The Tangletree Village Bike Race.

A short story, for young people of all ages, set around a Village Summer Fayre. The villagers get together each year to organise their Fayre but the pompous, arrogant Lord of the Manor thinks that he is charge. Sir Henry gets very angry when the organisers of the event agree to hold a ‘Bike Race’ without asking his permission.

If you like this story and enjoyed reading it, why not send Fred some drawings of, the main characters and the village where they live; it would be good to see the story published in a book.

Stories like The Tangletree Village Bike Race need to be well illustrated; this is an opportunity for you to put your ideas on paper and, who knows, they might appear in print one day. In the meantime, you might like to see your drawings illustrating the story on the website.

There is also a treatment of this story as a Screen or Stage production; Old Fred (well actually his grandson) would be happy to discuss the work with any drama/theatre group who might be interested in developing it into a performance
