Wealden and Rother Rural Partnership

The WARR Partnership is the Local Action Group currently covering rural Rother and the following parishes of Wealden:-

Frant, Heathfield & Waldron, Herstmonceux, Hooe, Horam, Mayfield, Ninfield, Pevensey, Rotherfield, Wadhurst, Warbleton, Wartling , Westham.

The Partnership is made up of local people and organisations, who work for the regeneration of rural areas by providing grants through the Leader+ funding programme.  Leader+ is an EU initiative for improving the quality of life and economic prosperity in rural areas and the programme ends in December 2008.

Whilst the majority of the funding approved for the WARR Partnership has now been allocated, in order to ensure any underspend from current projects can continue to be re-allocated quickly, a Small Grants Fund has been set up, through which funding is still available.

Projects seeking a maximum grant of £10,000 (preference will be given to requests for under £5,000), which meet the standard Leader+ criteria, and which can spend the grant between 1 January and 30 September 2008, are urged to contact the team as soon as possible.

The new Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) 2007-2013 ring fences a proportion of the grant to be spent using the Leader method. The WARR Partnership have submitted their bid for this new programme and is looking to extend the support to cover the whole of rural Rother and rural Wealden in the next round.
