The majority of the funding for the Leader+ programme has now been fully allocated, however, a Small Grants Fund has been set up in order to maximise any underspend from existing projects. Funding is still available and applications are invited from new projects seeking a maximum grant of £10,000 - with preference given to those seeking under £5,000.
In order to be considered, your project must continue to meet the existing standard criteria:-
It must address one of WARR’s chosen themes; either Adding Value to Local Products or Making the best use of Natural and Cultural Resources. It must benefit either Young People or Rural Businesses and Workers affected by Restructuring – if it also benefits other target groups, then that will be a bonus. It must achieve at least one Leader+ Output or Result (click here for Targets schedule)
It must take place in the East Sussex Leader+ area (click here). The lead organisation must be fully constituted and in a position to defray any expenditure before it can be claimed back through Leader+.
Leader+ cannot fully fund projects and you must be able to demonstrate that appropriate match funding of 50% (which must not include any other European fund) is in place. The project must comply with regional, national and European strategies, guidelines, laws and regulations.
How to apply
You will need to complete an Application Form and Project Proposal. Both are detailed documents, but need not be completed in as much depth as for larger projects. (Click the links below for details of the Application Form and Guidance Notes, or contact the team for details.)
Applications will continue to be accepted up to 30 June 2008, with all spend to be completed and claimed by September 2008. The availability of funding will be subject to underspend being returned to the Partnership by existing projects
